Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice

Effective Date: July 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice ("Privacy Policy") describes how Hunger, Nutrition & Health, LLC, doing business as HNH Intelligence ("HNH," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the Services described in HNH's Terms of Use. This Privacy Policy should be read together with the Terms of Use. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Use.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to hnhintelligence.com, related HNH digital products, email newsletters, and the HNH Intelligence Exchange (collectively, the "Services").

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, publications, or services that HNH links to, summarizes, or references. Review the privacy policy of any third-party site before providing information to it.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account and registration information, such as name, email address, organization, job title, and password;
  • Subscription and newsletter preferences;
  • Exchange Content you post, including profile information;
  • Communications with HNH, including contact-form submissions and support requests;
  • Survey, webinar, and event registration information; and
  • Donation information, where payment details are collected and processed by HNH's third-party payment processor; HNH does not store full payment card numbers.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser type, operating system, and unique device identifiers;
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it;
  • Pages and articles viewed, topics followed, and search queries within the Services;
  • Referring and exit pages, links selected, and time spent on pages; and
  • Session and log data.

2.3 Information from cookies and similar technologies

Described in Section 3 below.

2.4 Information from other sources

  • Organizations, employers, or sponsors that provide or facilitate your access to the Services;
  • Event co-sponsors or partners, where you register through a joint registration process; and
  • Publicly available sources, for professional directory or attribution purposes.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

3.1 What cookies do

Cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies are small files or code snippets that allow HNH and its partners to recognize your browser or device, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used.

3.2 Categories of cookies HNH uses

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for core functionality such as login sessions, security, and load balancing. These cannot be disabled without impairing the Services.
  • Functional and preference cookies: remember settings such as saved topics or display preferences.
  • Analytics and performance cookies: help HNH understand aggregate usage and improve the Services.
  • Advertising and targeting cookies: support the interest-based advertising described in Section 5, including frequency capping and retargeting.

3.3 Categories of advertising, analytics, and technology partners

HNH may work with advertising networks, programmatic advertising exchanges, web analytics providers, email and marketing platforms, and social-media advertising tools. Because specific vendors may change over time, HNH maintains a current, itemized list of active cookie and advertising partners on the Services' Cookie Preferences page, which is incorporated into this Privacy Policy by reference.

3.4 Managing your cookie choices

  • On your first visit, HNH will present a cookie banner allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookie categories, including advertising cookies, before they are set.
  • You may change your choices at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.
  • You may also control cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of participating ad networks' interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) or the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org).
  • HNH will recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request for targeted advertising and the sale or sharing of personal information, where required by applicable law.
  • Rejecting advertising or analytics cookies does not stop advertising altogether; it means the advertising you see will be less tailored to your inferred interests. Strictly necessary cookies remain active because the Services cannot function properly without them.

4. How HNH Uses Information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
  • Personalize content and recommend articles or discussions;
  • Send newsletters, alerts, and account communications, each with an unsubscribe or preference-management option;
  • Create and manage your account and subscription;
  • Respond to inquiries and provide support;
  • Moderate the Intelligence Exchange;
  • Measure and improve engagement with the Services;
  • Select, deliver, and measure advertising, including the interest-based advertising described in Section 5;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Use; and
  • Produce aggregated or de-identified analytics, including for sponsor or media-kit reporting, that do not identify you individually.

5. Behavioral and Interest-Based Advertising

HNH and its advertising and analytics partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to collect information about the articles and topics you view, the advertisements you see or click, and your interactions with the Services, in order to build inferred interest categories and deliver advertising tailored to those interests ("interest-based" or "behavioral" advertising). This may occur across the Services and, through HNH's advertising partners, potentially in connection with other unaffiliated sites and apps.

Categories of information that may be shared with advertising or analytics partners for this purpose include device and browser identifiers, pages and articles viewed, advertising interactions, approximate location, and inferred interest categories.

HNH does not knowingly use or share precise real-time geolocation, and does not use or knowingly share medical records, clinical information, or other protected health information, for interest-based advertising purposes.

Consistent with FTC guidance calling for prominent notice and meaningful consumer choice regarding data collected for behavioral advertising, HNH provides the following choices:

  • A cookie consent banner that lets you reject advertising and analytics cookies before they are set;
  • A persistent "Cookie Preferences" and "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the site footer, available at any time;
  • Recognition of the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out request where required by law;
  • Industry opt-out tools offered by the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative, referenced in Section 3.4; and
  • State-law privacy rights described in Section 8, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale or sharing of personal information.

6. How HNH Shares Information

  • Service providers who host, deliver, or support the Services, including hosting, email-delivery, customer-support, and analytics vendors, under confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
  • Advertising and analytics partners, as described in Section 5;
  • Employers, professional associations, or sponsors that facilitate your organizational access, generally limited to aggregate usage reporting rather than your individual reading history, unless you consent otherwise;
  • Parties involved in a corporate transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets;
  • Law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when HNH believes disclosure is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of HNH, its users, or others; and
  • Any other party with your consent.

HNH does not sell precise health or medical information, and does not knowingly sell personal information of children, as described in Section 10.

7. Data Retention

HNH retains account and profile information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legitimate operational, security, and legal purposes. Usage and analytics information is generally retained in an identifiable form for a limited period and thereafter in aggregated or de-identified form. Exchange Content may continue to be displayed after account closure as described in Section 17.4 of the Terms of Use. You may request deletion of your account information as described in Section 8, subject to HNH's legal retention obligations.

8. Your Privacy Choices and State Law Rights

8.1 All users

You may access and update your account information through your account settings, unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each email, adjust your cookie preferences at any time, and submit a request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, using the opt-out form described in Section 8.12 or by emailing privacy@hnhintelligence.com.

8.2 California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:

  • Know what personal information HNH collects, uses, discloses, and sells about you, and to whom it was disclosed;
  • Delete personal information HNH has collected about you, subject to certain exceptions;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising;
  • Limit the use of your sensitive personal information; and
  • Non-discrimination: HNH will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Under California law, "sale" is broadly defined and includes disclosing personal information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. "Sharing" means disclosing personal information to a third-party cross-context behavioral advertising partner for purposes of targeted advertising. HNH may engage in activities that fall within California's definition of "sale" or "sharing" when it uses the analytics and advertising partners described in Section 3.3 and Section 5. You may opt out of these activities at any time using the opt-out form described in Section 8.12, or by emailing privacy@hnhintelligence.com.

8.3 Texas Privacy Rights (TDPSA)

Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas residents have the right to confirm whether HNH is processing their personal data, access that data, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of the processing of personal data for targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

8.4 Virginia Privacy Rights (VCDPA)

If you are a Virginia resident, you may opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and you have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal data.

8.5 Colorado Privacy Rights (CPA)

If you are a Colorado resident, you may opt out of the sale of your personal data or its processing for targeted advertising, and you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

8.6 Connecticut Privacy Rights (CTDPA)

If you are a Connecticut resident, you may opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and profiling, and you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data.

8.7 Utah Privacy Rights (UCPA)

If you are a Utah resident, you have the right to access and delete certain personal data and to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data.

8.8 Nevada Privacy Rights (NRS 603A)

If you are a Nevada resident, you may opt out of the sale of certain personally identifiable information.

8.9 Other State Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of another state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, including Oregon, Delaware, Iowa, or another state that grants similar rights, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of the sale or targeted-advertising use of your personal information comparable to those described in this Section 8. HNH will respond to all such requests in accordance with applicable law, and will recognize the Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request where legally required.

8.10 Authorized Agents

You may exercise your rights under this Section 8 through an authorized agent. If you use an authorized agent, HNH may require written permission confirming the agent's authority and verification of your identity before processing the request.

8.11 Response Time

HNH will respond to a verified privacy request within 45 days of receipt. If HNH needs more time, it will notify you of the extension and the reason within the initial 45-day period.

8.12 How to Submit a Request

You may submit a request to exercise any right described in this Section 8 using the "Exercise Your Opt-Out Rights" form on this Privacy Policy page, which asks for your email address (required) and, optionally, your name and state, so HNH can apply the correct state-law standard to your request. You may also email privacy@hnhintelligence.com directly. HNH will confirm receipt of your request and will confirm by email once it has been completed. HNH will not discriminate against you for exercising any right described in this Section 8, and will provide a process to appeal a denied request by replying to HNH's response.

9. Data Security

HNH maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are encouraged to use a strong, unique password for your account. If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact legal@hnhintelligence.com promptly.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for a professional, adult audience and are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or a higher age where required by applicable law). HNH does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If HNH learns that it has collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, HNH will delete that information promptly. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information to HNH may contact privacy@hnhintelligence.com.

11. International Users

The Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you acknowledge this transfer and processing.

12. Third-Party Links and Content

This Privacy Policy does not apply to Third-Party Source Content or to third-party websites that HNH links to, cites, or summarizes. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, and HNH is not responsible for their privacy or data practices, consistent with Section 20 of the Terms of Use.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

HNH may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised policy will state its effective date. Material changes will generally be communicated in advance through the Services, by email, or by another reasonable method. Your continued use of the Services after a revised Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
